If you are interested in booking a newborn session, you should try to do so before your due date. I do, however, try to leave some room on my calendar for newborn clients that wait until after their baby is born to schedule. I do not “schedule” newborns due to timing reasons. I, rather, “pencil in” their due date and then wait to hear from you after he or she is born. Then we can decide on a day that would suit you best.
I offer studio sessions in my home studio located in Fluvanna County, VA. My home is about 25 miles east of Charlottesville. I do offer newborn sessions in your home as well. A $100.00 fee is added to your session for on location newborn sessions. Oldfields Photography supplies all props and accessories for newborn sessions.
Newborns need a lot of heat so I will ask you to turn your thermostat to about 78 degrees at least and I will also bring a space heater for additional heat. Newborns photograph best in their brand new skin, so clothing will be minimal. Feel free to pull out anything special to you that you would like your newborn to be photographed with. Maybe a special blanket or a knitted hat that grandma made.
Newborn sessions also include parents and siblings, but the primary focus is on the newborn.
Please contact me several weeks before your due date to book a newborn session if you can.
The studio…..please keep in mind that I am a mommy and we have three children, so my home studio is still our “home”.
